LMSK

Lab Medicine Society of Kenya (LMSK) is a professional membership society founded in 2020 and registered on July 8, 2021 in pursuance of Section 10 of the Societies Act, Cap 108 of the Laws of Kenya. We are purely apolitical and not-for-profit organization that is funded entirely by membership contributions and revenues from goods and services. We do not receive operational funding from governments or other organizations not affiliated to us. 

To be an institution that creates sustainable solutions that guarantee equity, opportunities, progress and success of its members as well as improving quality of healthcare services in the country.

LMSK is governed by a council comprised of a team of vibrant leaders democratically elected by members on a three-year term schedule. The following are the current members of the Council:

The Lab Medicine Society of Kenya has developed these Code of Ethics in consultation with its members. This Code is excerpted from the appendix to the Constitution of the Lab Medicine Society of Kenya.

The Code serves to define and expand the inherent ethical concepts to document expectations of ethical behaviour for all its members and to provide a framework during professional and personal self-evaluation.

The ethical principles contained herein are not listed in order of priority, but rather, should be considered in relation to each other during their application within situations involving bio-ethical dilemmas.

All members are encouraged to uphold the vision of this Code of Ethics by adhering to the following principles of ethical conduct, as well as the underlying concepts.
