ROLE: Laboratory Technologist.
Location: Kitui.
Job Purpose: Safely collect, transport and analyze specimens and blood samples.
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Collect blood specimens from patients, label correctly and evaluate for tests required. Come up with an established procedure and manual of standard laboratory procedures. Perform tests and sample analysis in the areas of hematology, immunology, histopathology.
- Calibrate and do routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and machines as per established protocols, schedules, and procedures.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and infection control policies and Maintain laboratory records and information comply with regulation.
- Enter results in the laboratory information management system Verify validity of all submitted samples.

- Maintain specimen inventory.
- Clinical chemistry and Microbiology
Qualification and Key Competencies.
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from an institution recognized by the KMLTTB.
At least 2-3 years working experience as a Laboratory Technologist in a Busy Hospital. Registration Certificate and valid practicing license issued by KMLTTB.
Excellent interpersonal, communication & customer care skills.
Advanced ability to ensure the highest standards in patient care and compliance with heaIthcare regulations.
Certificate in computer applications.
